<description>Thanks Jay, I didn&#039;t mention it above in the post, but I am disappointed in Flickr&#039;s most recent changes to their offering as there appears to be a very noticeable loss of sharpness when viewed in the Lightbox. I used to get really hung up on sharpness, not nearly as much these days, but regardless, wherever I post my photos I want them look as I had intended. SmugMug&#039;s galleries, etc. are excellent and customizable.

My two cents....Once again thanks for the input, have a great weekend.

<description>Brad, you hit the nail on the head with this BLOG. Slight testimonial for my buddy here - Brad was one of the few people who responded to me almost a year or so ago on FLICKR. I was new to photography and he kind of took me under his wing and taught me a lot along the way. I consider him a friend and a photographer who does this for the love of the art - now for the comment on this BLOG.

The other night I was out doing some abstract photography. Some images of graffiti. I was focusing on composing my images of the bright and contrasting colors. Once I was finished on my way out I came across this building - it has been abandoned for some time - but it has a lot of color to it and with the weathering of the building and a nicely displayed red light fixture outside I decided now was the time for me to take an image as I been considering it for some time.

While there I noticed a gentlemen walking my way from the near by hotel across the street. Sparking of a conversation we got to talking about photography, he was a photographer himself and much to my surprise he use to work at this building. We got to talking about photography and we ended up at a point where we were discussing this very topic. WE were talking about how Facebook and other sites are the &quot;fall&quot; of photography. I mentioned a topic that I wrote about on my blog heartlandshots.wordpress.com as my website is undergoing a total make over.

I made the comment that photography today isn&#039;t as much about photography. Everyone has access to a camera these days - and with that comes a lot of garbage pictures but mixed in with other images that are good images and this adds a mixture of good with the bad making it hard because of the clutter flooding the sites and field of photography.

Now, I am all about photography and especially people who share an interest in it but if you are going to do photography and call yourself a photographer the least you can do is take the time to learn a little about the field - do we all agree?

Congrats Brad and happy shooting,
